Hi there! You've reached Cass' cell phone. I'm unable to take your call right now, but please leave me your name, number, and message, and I'll call you back as soon as I can!
text | video | audio | in person | sticky notes | etc.
Mm, but if that did happen, it might hurt the other person if you ignore it and act like nothing happened. If you don't want to take it any further right now, or you're not sure how you feel, that's okay. But you should let them know. If you're worried about it, they might be too.
I guess you can say it would be a kindness, for you to do so. For a friend.
Hmmm... well, I can't say I am anywhere close to being like your sister, but I think that's because we have something in common. Can you guess what that is?
No, what I think your sister and I share is that we care about you, Maya, and we want to make sure you get what's best for you. Only you can make your decisions, but when you do I want you to follow your heart, and when you do, I'll support that decision. That's what's most important.
[Cass never had any other intentions, but that confession means a lot to her and she pauses, too, letting that sink in. She doesn't miss the continued usage of the past tense.]
I see. Then you must have so many memories with her. Sisters are like that. And I can see that she was amazing -- she raised such a fantastic young woman right here :)
Well it's natural that you can't do things like she did, Maya. You're Maya! Not your sister. I felt the same way about mine, too. She couldn't bake a cake for all that she tried but leave her to do everything else and she was golden.
But what I've learned from watching Hiro and Tadashi is that no matter how natural and easy the younger one thinks things come to their big brothers and sisters, those big siblings put in a lot of work where the little ones weren't watching. Like Kaneda and the eggs he made for that little friend of his.
He didn't say it directly but it wasn't hard to guess. He's a lot kinder than he thinks. He even came to check in on me and Hiro while Tadashi was gone. Don't let him know I told you though! He'll get embarrassed.
Natural talent isn't all that's important. Effort and tenacity are just as, if not more, important, and your sister knew that. I think you have the same strengths in you. Just remember one thing for me: Nobody can be Maya Fey but you, so be the best you that you want to be.

Listen to yourself. You have friends who'll listen to your voice, but only you can hear the voice in your own heart.
